Sasha Thomas

Sasha Thomas is a 6th grader at The Miami Valley School. She started at The Overfield School, a Reggio Emilia School, in Troy and Dance Expressions when she was three years old. Sasha was on the Tiny Expressions Team from Kindergarten through 3rd grade, where she served in leadership positions first as Officer and later as Captain. She received an invitation to be a soloist starting her 1st grade year. This will be her third year on Mini Expressions and held the title of Officer during her second year. Sasha has danced in national finals in Panama City, Florida for Masquerade and in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for Nexstar.

Her most memorable moments include earning Miss Rising Star Title, 2nd Runner-Up in the Showcase of Stars Pageant, a PAC Attack Award at Precision Arts Challenge, the Hollywood Dance Jams “I Am the Jam” full Scholarship to the Hollywood Dance Jamz National competition in Orlando, Florida as well as being chosen captain of the Tiny Team. Sasha is excited to be joining the Junior Elite Team this year!
Sasha is also an active member of the Vandalia Youth Theatre, where she has been in several productions including “The Lost Lamp”, “Honk Jr.”, “Seussical Jr.”, “Shrek the Musical Jr.”, and is currently cast in “Rock of Ages Youth Edition”.

Sasha would like to thank Mrs. Lori Downey, solo choreographer and Dance Expressions owner, for always believing in her and pushing her to the next level. She would also like to thank her mentor, Haleigh Gross, for helping her to realize why she loves to dance and for refining her skills to create great improvement throughout this year. There are many dance instructors and student teachers throughout this year that have given encouragement to her dance journey that are truly appreciated.
